Here at Silkey Gardens, LLC , we are experimenting with growing both summer and fall blackberries.
The blackberries are large and beautiful. But they can be difficult to grow this far north due to the short summers and harsh winters.
To adjust for this, we protect the canes through the winter and work to get them started earlier in the spring. We have recently installed a high tunnel, which is similar to a greenhouse, and would provide the plants with the growing time they need.
